Drive mode

Our prior Kodiak frequently had items inside the rig tossed around or cabinet doors opening while in transit. It was not unusual to come in after a long drive to find one of the cabinets emptied onto the floor because the door opened. It was part of our routine before hitting the road to be sure everything was closed. This wasn’t always enough. I just assumed it was normal for campers to have a mini earthquake while driving. This rig seems super stable. In fact, I kind of experimented with things on the counter to see what would get tossed around. I usually leave the rubber mat for drying dishes on the counter and it has never fallen off. I also have a couple of drip trays that I keep underneath the soap dispenser by the kitchen and the bathroom sinks. Both of these have stayed put including the soap dispenser on top of it.Impressive!! You do need to be aware of weight within the rig to be sure that you have a nice even ride during wind, travel, but this is nothing unique to this trai...

Interior storage

The first thing you will notice when entering this rig is the open airy feeling. Despite this openness, I do not feel like you are short on storage. We have split the storage along side of the bed in half. So we each get one closet, the drawer underneath and half of the upper cabinets. This has been more than adequate for what we need for our travels. There’s also the front cabinet that you could put your coats.  Slide out trays, while a little stiff and hard to roll. Are nice for storing your food. Cabinets above the sink are very deep and allow a ton of storage as well. We have been storing our food in the upper deep cabinet as well as that slide out tray area. This has been more than enough for us so far.  Silverware tray and drawer and worked well for those items as well. And our dishes are kept in the cabinet above that. All this seems to flow well. Size of the bathroom cabinet above the toilet has been very roomy, allowing for bedding, as well as towels and extra blanke...

Introduction from a new Winnebago Thrive owner

I am very excited to say I am the proud new owner of a Winnebago Thrive.  This is my 4th travel trailer but first Winnebago.  We researched for about a year before we decided on the 18FBS.  In all our research I have to say there were not many consumer reviews or blogs out there so this is my contribution to those others out there looking for real reviews.  I plan to post our opinions, positive and negative, about this RV.  Hope this is helpful to others.   To give you a little background this is our fourth RV we've owned.  We camped about 17 years in a pop up camper.  We then graduated to a hybrid Jayco.  We then grew into a bunkhouse (Kodiak Cub 17BH).  Now that the kids have moved out to college we transitioned into a couples camper.  We both have the ability to work remotely so we intend to get out there and see some more of our country.   Since there is so much to say about this camper, I am going to use ea...
